At Hunter Luxury, we believe good business is about more than just making money; it’s about making a positive impact. That’s why we decided to pursue B Corp certification, a recognised way to show our commitment to better business practices.
In today’s world, where people care more about how companies operate, many businesses, including big names like Patagonia, L’Occitane, and Innocent Drinks, are becoming B Corps. At Hunter Luxury, we partner with some of the biggest beauty and spirits brands globally, and we know that sticking to high standards is crucial.
As our CEO, Mike Banister, says, “Getting B Corp certified shows that we don’t just talk about making a positive impact; we live it every day.” This journey has been tough but worthwhile, focusing on real changes rather than just surface-level improvements. Being a purpose-driven company, B Corp certification aligns with our values of prioritising purpose along with profit.
Working with FutureShift was a game-changer for us at Hunter Luxury as we pursued B Corp certification. From the start, they were right there with us, helping us get our governance structures in place to ensure we were transparent and accountable. They also provided valuable strategies to boost employee welfare and engagement, which really helped us create a positive and supportive workplace culture.
FutureShift didn’t stop there; they helped us develop meaningful community initiatives and guided us in reducing our ecological footprint through sustainable practices. Their insights were crucial in strengthening our customer relationships, ensuring we deliver value through ethical business practices. Thanks to their support, we achieved B Corp certification and have successfully embedded sustainability and social responsibility into everything we do. This collaboration has truly positioned us as a leader in luxury packaging, committed to making a positive impact on people and the planet.
B Corp certification gives us a clear, objective look at our strengths and where we can improve, especially in terms of environmental and social impact. It shows our clients and partners what kind of business we strive to be and connects us with other companies that share our values and goals.
We became a B Corp to align our practices with our core purpose of creating exceptional experiences and sustainable packaging solutions. Our vision is to “turn ideas into memorable experiences” by designing packaging that stands out, tells a story, and is cherished forever. This commitment to innovation and sustainability supports our mission to eliminate throwaway packaging, tackle complex challenges, and deliver luxury experiences. Becoming a B Corp reinforces our dedication to environmental and social responsibility, ensuring that each packaging solution meets client expectations while making a positive impact on the world.
At Hunter Luxury, people are at the heart of what we do. We’re dedicated to forging meaningful connections between brands and their audiences through collaboration and passion. By bringing together talented individuals, we craft products that leave a lasting impression and bring a touch of luxury to everyone’s lives. Achieving B Corp certification highlights our commitment to sustainability, creativity, and community, bridging the gap between products and experiences and enriching the lives of our clients and end recipients.
We want to change what it means to be a successful business in the packaging sector. True success, to us, means considering environmental, social, and governance impacts along with economic ones. In an era where transparency and authenticity are key, B Corp certification helps us align our operations with our values, ensuring we remain a trusted leader in luxury packaging and gifting. By focusing on people and the planet alongside profit, we’re showing that we’re not just a business but a force for positive change.
Andrew Osborn, our Quality Manager, was crucial in guiding us through the B Corp certification process. His thorough review of our practices and dedication to our corporate commitments have strengthened our sustainability efforts and will help build stronger relationships with brands and suppliers who value ethical business practices.
“B Corp certification isn’t just a badge; it’s proof that we’re a responsible, purpose-driven organisation,” he said. “It appeals to employees and clients and matches our forward-thinking values.”
Our customers now want more than just great products or services; they want proof of a solid social and environmental framework. Achieving B Corp status shows we’re serious about corporate responsibility.
Looking ahead, Mike Banister highlights: “Getting B Corp certified across our global operations isn’t just a milestone; it’s a commitment to ongoing improvement and accountability. We’re dedicated to integrating sustainable practices into every part of our business, ensuring a positive impact for years to come.”
We’ll publish our first annual ESG report in 2025, detailing our efforts in creating sustainable packaging and gifts and our ongoing social and stakeholder initiatives. In the coming months, our sales and marketing teams will work closely with our customers to incorporate their ESG goals into our projects.
To celebrate our achievement, we had a tea party with delicious cakes from Yummy Mummy’s Cakes in Harpenden!
